Course Description

Cancer is a significant global health issue, leading to substantial mortality and morbidity across all age groups. It disproportionately affects older individuals compared to other age demographics. In numerous countries, cancer prevention and treatment are prioritized in national healthcare policies. The expansion of scientific understanding and technological advancements, combined with patients’ growing awareness of their condition and its treatment, has raised public expectations regarding cancer care. As integral members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, cancer nurses bear the responsibility of ensuring that patients under their care receive the highest standard of evidence-based nursing. The swift advancement in knowledge, coupled with the availability of major surgery and other treatments, including palliative care, necessitates specialized educational preparation for cancer nurses. This training enables them to provide high-quality care to cancer patients and their families.
